Provide a friendly environment where railfans can collaborate and share information.
We launched the Heritage Units website in mid-2012, just as Norfolk Southern was set to release their Heritage Units fleet.
Our vision was to create a platform where railfans could share the last known locations of locomotives, making it possible for everyone to track them in near real-time.
Since then, we’ve continuously released weekly updates to our server and mobile apps, adding popular features such as Train Symbols, Subdivisions / Milepost, Routing, and Inbound Train Notifications. We've also expanded reportable locomotives to include unique and original paint schemes. Our work is always evolving, and we’re always looking for new ways to support the railfan community—ideas are always welcome!

Personal apps that I've made for fun... app controller for lawn irrigation system w/ weather aware features, ATCS log parser to track the number of trains that pass within a day, and 18 years ago a voice recognition app that attempted to log railroad radio communicadtions and train counting device that listened for FRED signals of passing train.
