NS manifest train 19WLB21 arrives into Star Yard in Portsmouth, Ohio with a locomotive lashup that you may have seen on BNSF mainlines in the late 1990's. It's really not everyday you get to see these two types together, let alone on a foreign railroad and on a different side of the country. Shown here is BNSF C44-9W #714, Built in June of 1997 for BNSF, one of the many 700 series painted in Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe “Warbonnet” scheme, albeit a few differences between the original scheme and the scheme that BNSF adopted early into its new locomotive fleet. Two things are shown specially on this engine, a Leslie RS3L, which is super rare to the 700 series and an original Santa Fe cigarband logo on the nose! From here, it then gets fueled up in the yard, old train crew ties down and goes off duty. Where then it should get a new crew after 8:00 PM tonight to take it on to it’s final destination for the train, Bellevue, Ohio.
