In the morning hours on Tuesday October 15th, 2019, the newly restored Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy number 4014 departs Colton, California as it heads for Yuma, Arizona. The locomotive is wrapping up a week long visit to the LA Basin which included two days on public display in Colton, and a two day public excursion over Cajon Pass from Colton to Barstow and back. The excursion was sponsored by 4014s former owners, the Southern California chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society.
